Description
Pillars are long, solid, rod- to platelike, longitudinal elements, and in places, branched, in tangential sections, outlines of pillars may be rounded, elongate, or meandering with short, lateral offsets, rare denticles occurring on tops of cyst plates, in most places, cyst plates are thin, flattened (long, low), or more gently convex to wavy, cyst plates usually maintain a relatively flattened to slightly sagging disposition between pillars, no astrorhizae seen. [The relationships between Parastylostroma and Vietnamostroma are discussed herein (see p. 732)].
